This study seeks to analyze the current state of the art in negotiation for the development of strategic alliances in the internationalization of SMEs. To achieve this, two stages are established: first, a bibliometric analysis based on data extracted from the Web of Science database for 2018-2024. Secondly, a brief content analysis of 15 articles obtained randomly from the first stage. Among the findings, it was discovered that the study topics revolve mainly around negotiation and emotional dynamics. In addition, the main authors and journals are presented according to their level of production, citations, and H-index. Countries such as the USA, Germany, and Australia have higher levels of scientific output. On the other hand, this study contributes to the expansion and discussion of the current literature and serves as a basis for approaching possible lines of research for different purposes.
