Artisanal Territories: Theoretical-Conceptual Approaches for Their Conceptual Formulation

This article aims to interpret the concept of artisanal territories from a sociocultural perspective through a literature review. To this end, a bibliographic search was conducted in the Scopus database using VOSviewer software to identify the co-occurrence of key terms such as territory, space, representation, and craftsmanship over the past ten years. The narrative review allowed for the analysis of books and scientific articles addressing these concepts to better understand how territory is represented in relation to artisanal practices. The findings reveal that territory, understood as a social construction of space, is closely linked to identity, culture, and symbolic representation. Within this framework, craftsmanship functions as a generator of territoriality, giving rise to what are known as artisanal territories. These territories reflect the values, meanings, and forms of symbolic appropriation that communities embed in their productive practices.
