Management in Dominican educational centers presents systematic deficiencies derived from the predominant manual model. This R&D study aimed to develop and implement a custom management software and evaluate its impact on institutional operational efficiency. A quasi-experimental design with a single group and pre-post measurement and a mixed methods approach was adopted. Thirty-two subjects from four educational centers (2 public, 2 private) participated, selected through criterion-based intentional sampling. Semi-structured interviews, documentary audits of 15 grade records, direct usability observation, and double verification metric recording were employed. The software was developed using an agile methodology with continuous involvement from end users. The results showed a 70% reduction in student management time, a 66.67% reduction in report generation time, and a 75.55% improvement in the accuracy of school records. The qualitative findings revealed high satisfaction, ease of adoption, and functional comprehensiveness of the system. It is concluded that the development of custom educational software, based on knowledge of the institutional context, constitutes an effective pathway for the digital transformation of school management.
