Abstract

This paper shows the preliminary results about the implementation of the Interactive Design method stated by Xavier Fisher, in the Machine Drawing class 2, at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana Mechanical Engineering Faculty in the city of Bucaramanga (Colombia). This methodology provides support to the students in the learning of design process, facilitating them the understanding of design and giving them feedback and control along it. For the case it was applied to the drawing of a transportation system through the University campus. It begins with the preliminary definition of the design requirements, being the next step, the search of solutions and continuing with the detailed design. The first stage ends with the prototype’s implementation, whose whole evaluation in context allows detecting possible failures and/or improvements to deliver the most suitable solution to the user and solving the problem efficiently and accurately.
