Creativity and research: model for the strengthening of basic primary education
Abstract
This research is carried out in public educational institutions (IE) in Chiquinquirá (Boyacá) municipality to design a
theoretical model of competencies based on creativity so that primary school students can strengthen research and
achieve an articulation between the curriculum and pedagogical strategies according to national guidelines. As a
problem, it became evident that the IEs lack a plan that allows teachers to structure training processes based on
creativity and research from the curricular guidelines. The pragmatic method is used. For this, the mixed research
approach is implemented. Given this, the design applied for this research is the sequential explanatory design
(DEXPLIS). The population of the study is six rectors, 19 coordinators, and 391 teachers of the public IE of
Chiquinquirá. As a result, it was established that creativity impacts the development of research skills as a key to the
progress of expected learning. Therefore, it is concluded that applying the research competencies model based on the
development of creativity is of great importance in contributing positively to education in Colombia.
